Sixteen years after announcing a presidential run on "Meet the Press,' the Republican governor of Ohio says that he’s exploring a run for 2016.

Gov. John Kasich said Sunday morning that while he has not made a decision, his recent appearances should indicate how seriously he’s considering a run. "Look, all my options are on the table here," Kasich said. "You know, I’m more and more serious or I wouldn't be doing these things."

Kasich spoke at events in both New Hampshire and South Carolina on Saturday.

The governor stressed his experience as a former member of Congress, as well as his tenure as governor since 2011, arguing he had more experience than any candidate currently in the field.

"I’m trying to determine if this is what the Lord wants," said Kasich. "I’m not going to find that out lying in bed hoping lightning strikes, so I’m out there, one foot in front of another aggressively.

"We’ll see what happens."

Kasich was also asked about his comments on extremism in the Republican Party, and reiterated that "dividers" and "fiery rhetoric" within the GOP would not succeed in the Buckeye State. "What people in Ohio want to know is do you get them and their problems?"
