Spellbound fans waited up to 450 minutes to ride the new Harry Potter ride at Universal Orlando Resort which opened Tuesday. Would-be passengers tweeted photos of the wait sign at "Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts," alternately complaining about its length and sharing their excitement. But waits of several hours long for theme park attractions on special days are not unheard of. New Year's Eve revelers packing Disney World this year waited at some points up to five hours to take a five-minute ride. Wait times exceeded seven hours when the backwards-facing coaster at Universal Studios Japan opened in March of 2013.
