Sometimes it's best to be careful what you bite into. David Duran of Albuquerque, New Mexico, thought he had purchased a simple Fuji apple until he went to bite into it and saw Jesus holding a baby lamb on the fruit.
This is the first time the man has ever spotted Jesus in his food, but it isn't an uncommon trend — it's actually science. The phenomenon is known as face pareidolia, and it has caused people to see rats on Mars, Mother Teresa in a cinnamon bun and Jesus in a Cheetos bag. In 2004, a grilled cheese sandwich marked with the image of the Virgin Mary sold for $28,000.
As for the apple?
"Maybe it's a sign from the Lord that maybe we need to change our ways and maybe look at things to be more positive in this world," David told KOB. "Like helping our fellow neighbors and being good to people."
Additionally, the apple has been blessed and anointed by a local priest.
